Paris. Enjoying a morning in the park

The weather is warming up in Paris and we thought a nice way to spend a quiet Sunday would be to return to the  musée Rodin and purchase a one euro garden ticket.  It seemed as if a large part of the population had much the same idea, but after a wait of about twenty minutes we paid for our tickets and went into the lovely formal park.  We also discovered that for six euro you could purchase a one month pass to the garden.  This is a real bargain if you are staying in the area and the "powers that be" told us that it is kept cheap so locals can bring their children to this very pleasant place.  Additionally, it allows you to enter without queuing.

We went to the very nice garden cafe for lunch and sat and read in the sunshine for an hour or so.  Walking back we stopped to admire the Invalides where Napoleon is buried.

As we came down on the number 80 bus, we had noticed some tent-like structures as we crossed the Avenue des Champs-Élysées so on the way back to Montmartre we stopped to see what was going on.  In the "tents" were horses and signs were up all along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées advertising the three day event, Saut Hermès in the Grand Palais with show jumping and equestrian spectacles.

Enough excitement for a Sunday!!
